Still stuck in Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo! mail or some other e-mail service from the last millenium?

And, looking for a new one? Or looking for a secondary e-mail maybe?

How about a Gmail based service? Ah, yes... the wonders of Gmail. So far, I haven't seen a better mail system than Gmail, and Inbox.com. Best of the best, no less!

How about... a Gmail based service, but instead of @gmail.com at the end, with the name of the Internet family that you belong, trust and love?

Hey, maybe you might be wondering if it would be a good idea! But alas, you're too late. It's already done!

@nepternity.net. Gmail-based e-mail service. With our name, our branding. Ours to use. Ours... to keep.

How to get yours: simply reply here with the username you would like. That is, <username>@nepternity.net. You must as well specify why you would like to use this service, and what use you think you would give to it. Shortly you will receive a temporary password, and the link to get started. Thats it!

The only really downside is that the link to the sign up it's a little messy.

Of course, you can type it without the http://. With just a little memory and practice, it will become second nature, so no big deal.

Below, some things to note. Please read.

● Why I would need this service?

Chances are, you might actually not. If you like your current e-mail, you might like to stick with it. That is, if it's already Gmail, or some other really good e-mail service. If you are still stuck using an old, and outdated e-mail service (like Hotmail, Yahoo!, MSN...) you might be interested to switch to something better. Gmail.

● Will I still be able to use MSN with my new nepternity.net e-mail?

You need a Hotmail e-mail to be able to use MSN Messenger. That is a too popular, too true myth. You can have ANY e-mail address, and it will work with MSN. No problems.

● Wouln't it be a real hassle to transfer ALL my contacts from MSN, and to inform each one of them of my new e-mail?

No. In fact, you can continue using MSN normally after changing the e-mail address of your Windows Live ID (you can PM me for instructions how. It's really easy), and your MSN contacts will hardly notice. Everything will continue as normal. Of course, even better now that you aren't using Hotmail/MSN anymore!

● I do have a primary e-mail, and I don't really need other e-mail. Why to get this one?

Maybe you just don't need this service. Please think carefully if you could use other e-mail, or if aren't really going to use it. Personally, I have two e-mail addresses: one for personal use, and one to use with "the rest of people", and with e-mails of sites, etc.. A primary, and a secondary e-mail. Perhaps you could be interested in such system. But if you don't think you'll learn to use it, then by all means don't take what you won't use (in this case, @nepternity.net e-mail).

● Is Gmail that good?

Yes. The only e-mail provider that I know that comes at least close, is Inbox.com, which is REALLY good. It even does and provides many things Gmail don't. It's a shame that it's not very well known.

● What is the downside of all this? There must be one. It just can't be this good...

Actually, yes, there is a little downside. The log in link is a little problematic at first. But with some practice, there won't be any real problems. That aside, there aren't any real downsides, except for the lack of GTalk. Sorry, I couln't just made that work, our host didn't allowed me that.
