Did you know that antimatter existed? No? Well you are about to hear about it

History of antimatter:From 1928 to 1995

1928: the beginning
The history of antimatter begins with a young physicist named Paul Dirac and the strange implications of a mathematical equation...

It was the beginning of the 20th century, an exciting time when the very foundations of physics were shaken by the appearance of two important new theories: relativity and quantum mechanics.

In 1905 Albert Einstein unveiled his theory of Special Relativity, explaining the relationship between space and time, and between energy and mass in his famous equation E=mc2. Meanwhile experiments had revealed that light sometimes behaved as a wave, but other times behaved as if it were a stream of tiny particles. Max Planck proposed that each light wave must come in a little packet, which he called a "quantum": this way light was not just a wave or just a particle, but a bit of both.

By the 1920s, physicists were trying to apply the same concept to the atom and its constituents, and by the end of the decade Erwin Schrodinger and Werner Heisenberg had invented the new quantum theory of physics. The only problem now was that quantum theory was not relativistic - meaning the quantum description worked only for particles moving slowly, and not for those at high (or "relativistic") velocity, close to the speed of light.

In 1928, Paul Dirac solved the problem: he wrote down an equation, which combined quantum theory and special relativity, to describe the behaviour of the electron. Dirac's equation won him a Nobel Prize in 1933, but also posed another problem: just as the equation x2=4 can have two possible solutions (x=2 OR x=-2), so Dirac's equation could have two solutions, one for an electron with positive energy, and one for an electron with negative energy. But in classical physics (and common sense!), the energy of a particle must always be a positive number!

Dirac interpreted this to mean that for every particle that exists there is a corresponding antiparticle, exactly matching the particle but with opposite charge. For the electron, for instance, there should be an "antielectron" identical in every way but with a positive electric charge. In his Nobel Lecture, Dirac speculated on the existence of a completely new Universe made out of antimatter!

Ok i know this is boring but go look for yourself at Cern has created antimatter....

Here is pic of antimatter(I'm not sure if that is correct...But if its not thats what it should look like)

Heard of it, but never bothered to search the history of it.. I've seen a antimatter "trap" in my biology class, the only thing i know about it *lol

That covers it up for me, heard of it, but haven't really searched anything about it =P

Anti matter only exists to prove mathematical equations. Such as Albert Einsteins time/space fabric. You can't literally see time and space bend to make gravity, but when written on paper in an equation it fits. But equations and real are different in my opinion.

Theoretically there are an infinite amount of numbers between 1 and 2. So if you walk two feet you crossed an infinite amount of room. You will never reach the door.In a math equation that makes perfect sense, but we all know you can get from point A to point B.

Wrong. While there are a infinite numbers between 1 and 2, the EXACT, PRECISE distance between two steps could be theorically counted, be it in centimeters, in meters, kilometers... nanometers, etc.. But you only will be traveling a EXACT, PRECISE, FINITE number, no matter how long the number is, but it IS finite.

I know some of you are probably doubting that antimatter exists(if i understood you correctly) But it really is something. Its not just mathamatical equations. Anyway listen to this:One droplet of antimatter could power New York City for a full day...No talk about powerful. It releases energy with 100% enfinciey(nuclear fission 1.5%)Now let the discussing Begin...

Just because someone says it exist doesn't mean it does.
Even though i do believe in it.

Are you doubting that it exists...cause it does it just hasnt been seen yet...they have to learn to harness the power.

I don't really know how to take a side in this.
I thinm my side is ASIDE XD

Because I have no idea how to feel about this. Don't know enough about it.
So,... many people think this is more like "A Myth" or something like that?

And I don't really want to believe in "Infinite" things. Makes me just confused and all.
I wan't to think of things that are more at reach.

All that I like as Infinite, is the amount of ammo's inside games =D

Most people know about it but the reason they dont use it because antimatter itself will blow up if it touchs anything(and i mean anything) it blows up if it touches air.....

Actually touching air would mean that you are touching the elements put in it. This goes back years, as far back as when people thought there was only 4 elements
Fire, water,wind/air, and un-mingled bodies
